Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to lessons, courses and equipment rentals provided by PDC Kiteboarding / Kiteholic Board Sports and Outdoor (“PDC Kiteboarding”, “we”) at Coco Beach, Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
1. Bookings
Lessons and rentals are booked through WhatsApp or email and are confirmed by us in writing. No payment is needed to request a booking.
No payment is taken in advance. You pay on the day of your lesson by PayPal, wire transfer to our US bank account, cash in Mexican pesos or cryptocurrency.
2. Prices
Prices are in US dollars, per person, and include all equipment (kite or wing, board, harness, helmet and flotation vest). Kitesurf courses include the IKO certification.
Paired lessons are for 2 students of similar level and build who share one instructor and one set of gear. We never mix students who do not know each other.
The price that applies is the one stated in your booking confirmation.
3. Wind and weather
Kitesurfing and wing foiling depend on the weather. Our instructors decide whether conditions are suitable and safe for your lesson.
No wind, no charge: if there is not enough wind or conditions are unsafe, we reschedule your lesson. Lessons that are not given are not charged.
4. Changes and cancellations by the student
You can change or cancel your booking free of charge up to 24 hours before your lesson. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged 50% of the lesson price.
If you do not show up without notice, the full lesson price is charged. If you arrive late, the lesson still ends at the scheduled time. As we do not take payment in advance, these charges are paid with the methods listed in section 1. Lessons we cancel because of wind or weather are never charged.
5. Requirements to take part
To take a lesson or rent equipment you must:
- be a confident open-water swimmer;
- not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
- be in good health, with no medical condition that may interfere with kiteboarding, wing foiling or wakeboarding, and tell your instructor about any injury or medication before the lesson;
- have no impairment that may affect your judgment of danger or your understanding of the instructions given;
- use the equipment in a reasonable and safe way, without endangering other people or property.
Minimum age: 12 years. Students under 18 need the waiver signed by a parent or legal representative.
6. Liability waiver and assumption of risk
Water sports involve inherent risks that no amount of care, instruction or expertise can fully eliminate. Before the first lesson or rental, every student completes our Student Check-In & Liability Waiver, which includes a voluntary assumption of risk, a release of liability and an indemnity agreement. For students under 18, the waiver is signed by a parent or legal representative.
7. Safety and instructions
Students must follow the instructor’s instructions at all times. The instructor may pause or end a session if continuing would be unsafe.
8. Learning progress
Progress depends on each student’s ability, weight, previous board-sport experience and the conditions on the day. Booking a number of hours does not guarantee reaching a specific level.
9. Equipment rental
Equipment is rented only to independent riders with an IKO certification or other proof of their level. Otherwise, a supervision or advanced lesson with one of our instructors is required before renting.
To rent without supervision you need valid third-party liability insurance that covers kiteboarding. Renters are responsible for any damage to or loss of the rented equipment.
10. Personal belongings
We are not responsible for the loss of, or damage to, personal belongings left at the school or on the beach.
11. Privacy
We handle your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. With your consent, your instructor shares your details with the IKO so you can receive your certification.
