When a norte brings north wind, it blows offshore at Coco Beach and we move the action to the Isla Blanca lagoon, north of Cancún. We organize a full day trip from Playa del Carmen with transport, lessons for every level and a kite club with everything you need on the beach.
Isla Blanca is a narrow strip of land between the Caribbean and the shallow Chacmuchuch lagoon. With north wind, the lagoon gives wide, shallow water that works well for learning and for riders who want to make the most of a windy day.
How the day trip works
- 09:00 departure by van from our meeting point at Av. CTM and 5th Avenue, Playa del Carmen.
- About one hour of driving to Isla Blanca.
- We base the day at a kite club with bathrooms, restaurant and a great launch area.
- Four to five hours on the water, split by a lunch break.
- 16:00 return, arriving in Playa del Carmen around 17:30.
Transport: US$50 per person, round trip, paid in cash. Includes the kite club entrance. Lessons are charged separately at the prices below.

Isla Blanca days depend on the wind. During the November–May season, when the forecast shows north wind, we let our students know and organize the trip. Follow the live Coco Beach station and read What Are Nortes? to understand how these days work.
Kite lessons at Isla Blanca
Lessons follow the same IKO courses we teach at Coco Beach. Private means one instructor and one student; paired means two students of similar level and build sharing an instructor and gear. We never mix you with strangers.

Prices in USD per person. All equipment and IKO certification included. You pay after your lesson, and if there is no wind, the lesson is rescheduled at no charge.
